owner of geared for dyslexia blog for struggling learners with dyslexia

My name is Tawni. I am a wife and stay home mom to our 5 kids, homeschooling mom to our youngest who has dyslexia and an in home daycare provider to a few kiddos that aren’t ours. 🙂

I love to read, clean, organize and find solutions to problems. I love almost all sports, especially archery hunting and one of my favorite things to do is go camping.

HOW THIS SITE CAME TO BE…

Our son and my love for working with kids is how this site came to be.

I try and incorporate our son’s right brained learning style into everything I can turn into a lesson (which is almost everything). He’s more engaged when I do this and it makes schoolwork and reading practice much more tolerable to get through. ☺

A LITTLE ABOUT THE FAMILY

geared for dyslexia family picture

My husband and  I live in Wisconsin with our 5 kids, ages 14,15,17,19 and 20 and a handful of animals. Sometimes 2 handfuls, depending on what the kids try and sneak home. Our kids are almost all teenagers and young adults now, but life around here is never dull and never quiet!

We enjoy  hunting, camping, 4 wheeling, dirt bike riding, going to dirt track races, fishing, and snowmobiling.  (just about anything having to do with the outside)

Our older kids are all in public school/college, and our youngest who is 14, is currently being homeschooled.

Except for myself and our daughter, the entire house including all of our pets, are all BOYS! All day everyday is a whole lot of ACT FIRST…THINK LATER!

If you have a struggling learner then you have come to the right place. The tips on this site will definitely get you going on the right track.
